Take Action

IF YOU DON'T,
WHO WILL?

We empower communities and animal rescue organisations with the funding they need to protect, treat, and advocate for animals. Preventing abuse, promoting responsible ownership through education, and expanding access to sterilisation and vital healthcare.

Who We Are

Action for Animals is a registered non-profit company (NPC) in Johannesburg focused on practical, hands-on animal welfare. We partner with local rescuers and shelters to fund sterilisations, assist with urgent cases, and promote responsible pet ownership education. Our aim is simple: real help, full transparency, and a community working together to protect animals where we live.

Our Vision

Through strategic funding and community collaboration, we support initiatives that protect animals, improve access to veterinary care, and promote responsible ownership.

Population Control

01

An estimated 4 million cats and dogs are homeless in South Africa. Without sterilisation, this number grows exponentially, placing immense strain on communities and welfare organisations. By funding sterilisation initiatives, we aim to address overpopulation at its source and prevent future suffering.

Healthcare Access

02

Access to basic veterinary care protects both animals and people. Treating injuries, illness, and preventable diseases improves animal welfare while reducing public health risks within communities. Through our funding model, we aim to help vulnerable animals receive the care they need while supporting healthier, safer neighbourhoods.

Education

Lasting change begins with knowledge. By empowering welfare organisations that work directly within communities, we help promote responsible pet ownership, proper care, and the importance of sterilisation. Education empowers people to protect the animals already in their care while preventing future neglect and abandonment.

03

Protection

Animal suffering often happens quietly and unnoticed in our communities. By equipping welfare organisations with financial resources, we help enable outreach, intervention, and support in areas where animals are most vulnerable. Awareness, presence, and community engagement are powerful tools in preventing cruelty and neglect.

Community Network

05

A strong community network can save lives. By connecting people through our social platforms, we create a local network of eyes and ears on the streets, helping reunite lost pets, identify animals in need, and mobilise support quickly. When communities work together, fewer animals are left behind.

Access To Care

06

Many families love their animals but lack access to veterinary care. By providing financial assistance for treatment and sterilisation, we help keep pets healthy, prevent suffering, and ensure animals can remain safely in their homes.
